In Progress...

So I’ve clearly neglected this website over the last four years to the point where I have let it deactivate and disappear off the web. Honestly, I’m not going to lie…I forgot about it. I’ve been through a lot and I am now at a point where I have been doing a ton of reflection. Mostly, thanks to COVID and taking some time away from work. I feel this site will go through a major update to eventually fit with the phase of life I am in. In the meantime, let me at least fix these broken links!

I like to see my life as ever-evolving, always in progress, and never quite perfect. As I navigate these experiences and figure out who I am at this point in time, I am enjoying the journey wherever it takes me. What I’m searching for is probably right around the corner, but patience is also not my strong suit. Isn’t that the beauty of life? Loving the unknown just as much as the known, and all the things you learn along the way. As a reminder, I’m going to try not to be too hard on myself.

I want to restart this site because it is really important to me that I start to document my journey, my thoughts, my work….everything because so much has happened over the years. I just have collections of notes, dreams, and projects just floating all over the place and they need a home. I have learned so much and worked on a variety of projects that I would like to share with the world. Will you join me…again?

Lola

First Quarter

I cannot believe I let this much time go by without posting about my first quarter at SCAD. I took Drawing I and Speaking of Ideas. I was anxious and nervous about starting because first of all, I couldn't draw, and second, I hate speaking in public. Great way to start the first quarter!

If you could see me now, you couldn't believe I was the same person that could barely hold a pencil. I cannot express how happy I am that I made the decision to attend SCAD and it is worth every penny! Well, sometimes I have my moments.

Later, I'll post some pictures so that you can see my progress and development over time. Gotta make sure they look professional, know what I mean...

Thanks for being a part of my journey!

Until next time...

Love,

Lola

p.s. If you check out my About page, there is a picture I took while down in Savannah back in March before I started classes. Definitely had to stop by SCAD!

I am officially welcoming you to my new blog! Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoy every second of this journey as I do.

I must be honest...this endeavor is completely new to me and I definitely have many reservations about putting myself out there for the world to see, but I must say, this will be an enjoyable experience and I cannot wait to begin this new phase in my life with you!

One of the main reasons I am creating this blog (yes, it is still a work in progress at this moment in time lol) is because this is a very pivotal time in my life. I recently had a midlife crisis...rather 20 years too soon, but my life did come to a serious halt. The career path I had chosen was not meant for me. After working six months in IT consulting (something I thought I would do for the rest of my life), I woke and kept thinking to myself this can't possibly be it. I cannot see myself doing this for the rest of my life, heck not even for the next 5 years. So I decided to make a change and really explore what will be the most fulfilling and joyful path for me, and you know what I decided.....

Tune in to my next journal entry as I explain what I have decided and the next steps on my to-do list to getting there!

P.S. there is a big hint to what it will be...look up!

Let me know what you think ;)

Love,

Lola
