Dreams Do Come True...

“A creative [wo]man is motivated by the desire to achieve, not by the desire to beat others...”
— Ayn Rand

I know...I know...I have been MIA for quite some time. One thing led to another and then before I knew....weeks had gone by without me posting anything. I determined to get back on track, get focused, and stop being lazy! Those are definitely my goals from now and so forth.

On another note, the main reason why I want to write this post is definitely to update you on what I have been getting prepared for. Last time I spoke of going back to school was in a previous post HERE. Well...I am definitely pleased to say that I have received my acceptance letter from the Savannah College of Art and Design, SCAD for short, and will be starting my new path beginning March 2015. Yes, just about two months away and I am ecstatic!

One of the main reasons I started this blog was to definitely have you guys join me while I explore this new direction that life has taken me, and this acceptance has definitely got the ball rolling. I am happy that I have come such a long way and I am actually brave enough to share my experiences with you all. This will be an amazing journey and I hope that it inspires at least one person out there who gets the chance to read this.

Until next time...

Love,

Lola

Shoe Closet!

I am in desperate need of some shoe organization in my life. Having all of your shoes in boxes makes it that much harder to have an idea of what you want to wear. What makes it worse is that sometimes I forget about half of those shoes because I don't see them. I have been looking on Pinterest and searching Google for anything that can help with my dilemma, and this is what I found!

Gorgeous, right? I was searching for a shoe organizer that would have glass doors. It would make finding shoes a breeze.  It can be used as decor itself with your shoes on display. Also, the glass doors would help keep dust off of them extending the lifetime of your shoes. I found inspiration is this closet but....unfortunately I do not have a closet this large nor a room to dedicate to a closet. So I came across another pic of someone who used an IKEA cabinet to get the job done.

So with the help of the second picture, I went searching on IKEA and I think I found the one!

So with the price tag on this item, it may be a while before I get it, but at least I know where to go. I also like the extra side of shelves. I'm thinking it could hold my purses. Too bad it doesn't have a door. I could probably build one though...yikes! I definitely will be changing the door knobs too!

Let me know what you think and if you're having a shoe dilemma like myself lol

Lola

Room Items

Hey guys!

If you didn't catch my previous room tour, check it out HERE. Here are most of the main items that I have used in my bedroom. A lot of these I found by chance, well...not actively looking for them...at IKEA, Pier 1, and Target. Ooh Target, I love thee and finding accessories for a much lower cost. And they look great...can't beat that!

I was inspired to create a little board to organize these items just so you could get a better look! Links below.

Enjoy!

p.s. the clock is on sale for 50% off at Hobby Lobby this week! Something tells me I should have waited...

Hope you like!

Room Tour

Like I promised, more room pics! I knew I would get a little trigger happy as soon as a new camera came along. I am still working on getting pictures for my gallery wall and I still need to put my curtains up, but other than that...it has come a long way. Now if someone could tell me where to find a cream and gold lamp. Enjoy!

I love how it came together. Normally, my rooms have always been on the more neutral side, so to have all this color in my life was definitely out of the box for me. I love it!

Remember...it's a very cool thing to be a smart girl.

I'll be giving details on all my sources in a future post. Gotta get them all together.

Can't wait to hear what you all think!

Lola

New Camera!

Meet the new addition in my life!

Yes! I am sooooo in love with my new camera, you have no idea. Remember in my previous post Room Tour Preview,  I mentioned wanting a camera to take better pics.  After weeks of research, I finally decided on the Canon T5i. I'm only taking pictures in auto mode but the quality is nothing I can compare to my current camera on the Galaxy S5. Over time, I will be learning the features of this camera and the basics of photography, so I can get creative and really create those breath-taking pics.

Let's see what pictures I come up with! ;)
